I really want a Mazda6 wagon.

I forgot these existed and how much I like them. Those blue-gray and teal colors are gorgeous. My buddy had a silver one that he sold after getting his Forester, and that was such a nice vehicle for an 06. I'm probably gonna get the Legacy though, FWD is cool but AWD turbo is cooler. What does Oppo think? AWD vs. FWD doesn't bother me. Both could be had in configurations that had manuals and made 200+ hp.

To be honest, I love Subaru and Mazda both. I would love to have both of these cars in my driveway at some point.

Subaru Legacy. I love Subaru legacy, so my vote is maybe biased, but they're just great cars.

That Blue Mazda is so HOT!!! But, I've heard some not so favorable things about reliability. My biased vote would go for a Legacy.

I'm definitely getting a Legacy! I just really love the 6 as well, it's a great vehicle that I think looks very good.

Well, i'm not getting the pulsar yet since i haven't convince the mrs. She always thinks the pulsar is ugly and i'm better off buying something a little bit more modern. Plus i'm still thinking of putting Supercharger on my Elgrand and create the ultimate JDM Minivan.

The plan is to get a 2.5t Legacy wagon w/manual. Then upgrade the stereo, headlights, get a custom tune on the drive train (for longevity and avoid any issues that may crop up, I've been told the factory tune isn't great), and whatever else I come up with.

I don't know much about the flat 6 honestly.

I have, but i don't really like it since it's not based on JDM Oddysey, which looks much better than the USDM oddysey, especially if it's tastefully lowered:

I actually like the look of the USDM Odyssey, that JDM tho. Most JDM looks better, that is lovely.

From what I've heard, the flat 6's are the best, as they rarely suffer the head gasket issue, which commonly occurs on the 2.5's. Also, if you plan on upgrading the radio, be sure that you do not get a legacy with automatic dual zone climate control, because there is no dash kit available for that specification.

I loved the Mazda6, both with a V6 and an I4, but here in the states the wagon was only offered with a V6. The AWD powertrain in the Mazdaspeed6 was strange—the engine made just enough power to overcome the extra drivetrain losses, but the low speed sensitivity of the pure FWD platform was lost.

I vote for the Mazda6 for a few reasons—sweeter transmission, better driving, lower maintenance costs.

See that's what I like about the Mazda, it is a fun to drive car and overall pretty good. I'm totally fine with only having the V6 in the US, I love V6s and their predictability. I just really want them to bring us that sweet, sexy new 6 wagon from Europe.

That is definitely a consideration, the extra ground clearance would definitely be nice to have. I didn't realize the Outback got an XT trim level.

It certainly did get that trim level. In the 2.5 months I've had my Ooutback, I can't believe how many places I've been able to take it. which would have gotten my Elantra stuck, or damaged. Believe me, it is so worth it for those few inches of ride height.

I am partial as well. Bought our '05 Sepang Green 6 wagon brand new and it now has just over 70k on the odo. Love it so much and think about changing it out from time to time, but can't bring myself to do it. The center console screen problem has struck our car, but who needs to know what time it is anyway. The other wagon I would like is the Alfa 159 Sportwagon.

There is a good thread on the Mazda websites. Basically there was an issue with the solder and you can take it out and fix it or there is a way to bring the screen from a newer model, but it requires a bit of re-wiring. There is a good thread on the Mazda 6 Club forum.
